Community guidelines
Last updated October 30, 2026
Find Housing is a public map, so most of what happens here is you reading it. These guidelines explain how WERQ chooses what to list, how to tell us when something is wrong, and what we ask of everyone who uses it.
How we choose what to list
- We list rental buildings around Portland that are affordable or income-restricted, or that work with programs WERQ uses to help people get housed: One App Oregon, the Housing Connector Hub, and project-based vouchers.
- We publish facts about the building, never about the people who live or work there.
- We show the date we last checked openings, and we say so when that date is old.
- Listing a building is not an endorsement. We may take a building off the map when we learn it is not a safe or fair place to apply.
Tell us when something is wrong
Housing information goes out of date fast, and the people using this map often know first. Please email peers@werqt.org when:
- A phone number, address, rent, income limit or link is wrong.
- A building says it has no openings, or a waitlist has closed.
- A building turned you away, or treated you badly, for being trans, nonbinary or gender diverse, or for any other part of who you are.
- You manage a building and want its listing corrected or removed.
Every building's page has a Report wrong information link that starts the email for you with the building's name. Tell us only what you are comfortable sharing. You do not have to give your name, and we will not publish anything you send us about yourself.
If a building discriminated against you, you can also report it to the Fair Housing Council of Oregon.
Respect people and properties
- Be kind to building staff when you call. They are often the people who decide whether to call you back.
- Do not go onto a property, into a building, or near residents' homes without an appointment or the manager's permission.
- Do not use what you find here to harass, threaten or discriminate against anyone.
- Remember that real people live in these buildings. Their homes are not a tour.
WERQ TOGETHER-wide guidelines
These sit alongside the WERQ TOGETHER Community Guidelines, which cover all of our public sites, programs and community spaces. See also the Find Housing terms of use and privacy policy.
